Get Faster Stimulus Checks By TurboTax

       Turbo Tax has launched several tools to assist in receiving your stimulus check faster and to determine the amount you will receive. The first tool, Stimulus Registration Product, will assist those who are not required to file. With this product it will allow those individuals to file a minimal return and get necessary information to the IRS, which will possibly result in receiving your stimulus check quicker. There is no cost for this service. If you are receiving Social Security and no other taxable income or have already filed your 2019 taxes, it is not necessary to do this.

       

        The stimulus checks will be based on your 2018 or 2019 tax returns. Those who filed single and made less than $75,000 will receive $1,200 or $2,400 for joint filers. An additional $500 will be received for underage children. Turbo Tax is also offering a free program to calculate the amount of your stimulus payment. This tool is called Turbo Tax Stimulus Check Calculator.

           

       Both the Stimulus Registration Product and the Stimulus Check Calculator are online products. They both can easily found by searching for Turbo Tax on the internet.

         

       The IRS did extend the tax filing deadline to July 15, 2020. However, it is recommended if you haven't filed that you do so as soon as possible. Turbo Tax does offer a free tax filing program for those who meet the following criteria:

   -income $36,000 or under or served in the military and made under $69,000

   -simple taxes, using form 1040EZ or 1040A

   -only W-2 income, interest

   -no or minimal deductions
